By SAMANTHA COSSICK P.O. Staff writer CHAMBERSBURG PA Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County is set to hit several milestones in 2012 as homes are completed and mortgages paid off. Completed projects will bring the number of homes built in the county up to 30, said Mark Story, executive director. Additionally, the first family to move into a home will be paying off their mortgage this year. "So it is exciting. We're looking at No. 30 in Franklin County this year and that just shows the support of our community," Story said. Two projects are currently in various stages of completion -- one at 522 S. Main St. and another at 402 E. Washington St. |

Staff writer CHAMBERSBURG PA Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County is asking for change - literally - in the form of quarters as part of its new fundraising campaign, Living Quarters. The nonprofit organization is looking to be creative with fundraising and show the community that anyone can get involved with the new campaign, said Mark Story, executive director. The question arose: "How many quarters would it take to build a Habitat house?" |

The deed to a house at 458 E. King St. was transferred to Habitat in late November, said Mark Story, executive director for Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County. |

CHAMBERSBURG, PA Dec. 18, 2011 Herald Mail Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County, Pa., recently released results of the 2011 Building Hope Giveaway. Franklin County Career & Technology students, led by instructor Todd Swan, constructed a gazebo from scratch and donated it to Habitat to use as a fundraiser. The gazebo was on display all summer at Lowe’s in Chambersburg, and various businesses throughout Franklin County helped sell $10 tickets for an opportunity to win it. |
