CHAMBERSBURG, PADec. 18, 2011 Herald Mail Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County, Pa., recently released results of the 2011 Building Hope Giveaway. Franklin County Career & Technology students, led by instructor Todd Swan, constructed a gazebo from scratch and donated it to Habitat to use as a fundraiser. The gazebo was on display all summer at Lowe’s in Chambersburg, and various businesses throughout Franklin County helped sell $10 tickets for an opportunity to win it. Habitat received corporate sponsorships for the fundraiser from 1st Home Mortgage; 1st National Bank of Mercersburg, Pa.; Brechbill & Helman; Carter Lumber; Exit Preferred Realty; F&M Trust; Fuddruckers, Graphics Universal; Lowe’s of Chambersburg, Shippensburg, Pa., and Waynesboro, Pa.; Mortgage Network; Patriot Federal Credit Union; Preferred Choice Settlement; Smith/Elliott/Kearns; State Farm — David Stauffer and Tracy Rush; Susquehanna Bank; Tower Bank; and Walker/Connor/Spang. The winner was Lynn Hostelter of Chambersburg. The fundraiser brought in several thousand dollars for Habitat’s mission to provide safe, decent and affordable housing in Franklin County. |
